All these photos were taken on an early summer night in 2004 at a Zombie Prom on Daggett Street in New Haven, CT. On the day of the party I was dumped over the phone by a guy I was really starting to like while I was doing laundry. I was literally loading the washing machine when he said "I don't think this is going to work out anymore." I said "Oh. Ok! Great! Well, talk to you later! Thanks for calling!" But I was really crushed. It was the first time I had ever been dumped and it was the first guy I started to like after Mike. I didn't want to go to the party, but my friend, a recovering junkie, did not want to go to the party alone because the Daggett Street area can be known for its easy access to junk. For his support and so that I wouldn't accidentally drown myself in the bathtub (Summer 2004 was the summer of baths in my big ol' clawfoot tub.), I went to the party. On the way there, my friend found a Candy Land card on the ground and suggested I take pictures of it. I proceeded to hand it to lots of people at the party and ask that they pose with it. I just found these first three on the fridge film. Hopefully the rest will turn up. (Side note: it's interesting how many memories come up with this fridge film (most of it can be seen in the Point & Shoot album) and how amazing that I can immediately recall just what I was feeling and in MOST cases where I was when shooting.)
