Alex took the day off of work. He took it off last week in preparation for Georgia's recovery, but since she had a truncated operation and she's doing really well we decided to go ahead and keep his vacation day and go to the zoo. We have a membership (sent to us from an anonymous benefactor, though we have our suspicions) that expires at the end of the month so we figured we'd get at least another use out of it. If the weather is as nice as it has been, chances are we'll go a couple more times before the end of the month, too.
Georgia didn't have any pain meds today and though she did seem a littler more tired than usual she wasn't overly cranky. In fact, most the day she was just great!
We just went to the zoo a week or so ago when my MIL was visiting, so we only went to our favorite exhibits (the chimps, the polar bear, the rhinos), but we walked by a bunch of others--some we didn't even realize were there and missed the last few times.
We ate a picnic lunch for the second day in a row. I can't believe how grown up Georgia looks sitting at the picnic table eating her lunch. Here she is signing "Mom" while I take her picture.
Cracker crumb face while we await the tram.
*Rainer, I don't know WHY we didn't get many good pics of you this time. You were just mellow and relaxed and hanging back, so I guess I thought there would be a zillion of the same picture. Not that I don't have a zillion of OTHER similar pics of you. But the ones I got in these bunch were mostly blurry. You know we love you. (Mom guilt rares her ugly head.)
(Edit to add: I just have to mention, too, that is G's first skinned knee (in the last picture). She did it yesterday when we were walking to the park. Funny, she's been holding my hand while walking lately (suddenly/out of the blue), and she was holding my hand when she fell. She still randomly goes limp noodle. What is UP with that?)

I love that first shot of her! Wow.

Hey, but the one you got of Rainey is gorgeous!
AND that second pic of Georgia - she has her momma's smile - lucky girl! You make her stop growing right now. She is TOO GROWN UP sitting at that picnic table.

Love those pics! What a big girl she's getting to be and Rainier is so handsome! I can tell he's devilish! My daughter loves to hang and going limp at an end of am arm, or two, is her idea of fun. It took awhile and a couple of skinned knees to break her of that habit!

Great pictures! I love the sleeping with the blankie pose. That's a keeper.
OMG the Limp Noodle. It's a phenomenon (sp?) to be studied for sure. So frustrating!

she looks so much like you in that second shot.
I just re-read your last post about the nurse at the hospital. My pediatric practice is at a hospital and they never do stuff like putting the cuff on a parent first. I am going to mention that to them.
