Have any of you or your kids done an allergy panel? I guess it's essentially a blood draw to test for allergies, we are specifically looking to see if Georgia is having seasonal allergies I guess. Georgia's been off antibiotics for a week and her nose is absolutely disgusting and flowing green again.
The doctor wants us to try a children's non-sedating allergy syrup (essentially Claritin) for 1-2 weeks and Saline drops 2-3x/day before we jump back to antibiotics. I totally understand and agree...I am really worried about "running out" of antibiotic options for things over the years. Does that happen? Now that she's allergic to penicillin, I am afraid it could.
Anyhow, I guess this panel will tell us if she is having an allergic reaction. I guess we're not out of the allergy woods yet. Sigh.....I just wish we knew what it was (aside from the obvious she has small sinuses factor...something is CAUSING this initially). It's messy and it makes her (and Mom and Dad) miserable.
Of course she is supposed to also see the ENT on Tuesday for her hearing again and I am sure they are going to say something about her having a sinus issue if she has fluid in her ears. EVERY SINGLE TIME we have gone to have her ears checked she has been having a sinus issue. I don't know what's the sinus issue and whats plain ol' fluid in her ears!
I also can't help but feel this holiday weekend is a big pain in the butt stuck here in the middle of my needing to get stuff done. You know you're in trouble when you are annoyed by a holiday weekend!
