Georgia and I had a busy day today. We woke up and cleaned the house and showered and handled some details for my little sister who fell off her bike on the way to work this morning and was in the hospital (she's fine, just a little dinged up) and then we headed over to our friends Clara, Cecelia and Taurin's house for a little playing and lunch. Clara made a yummy quiche, I made some muffins and Georgia ate some apples and plums.
She's also, I am happy to report, holding her own bottle! Alex and I thought it would take a little longer with the hand over hand stuff, but I guess she's decided "Heck, I can do this!" And now she grabs her bottle and plops it in her mouth. If we lay her back she can go to town. I feel both excited by and saddened by this....I guess she doesn't really need ME anymore.
Then our friends Caitlin, Ashley and Elinor came to visit us all the way from The Big Portland (you know which one I mean). We were so excited to see Caitlin (who I went to college with) and meet Ashley and Elinor for the very first time! Elinor is going to be 6 months old tomorrow and she is a cutie!
I think Georgia has made a new BFF.
Elinor and Georgia have reached very similar milestones, which is right on par with what the PT and ST mentioned at our visit yesterday. They estimate Georgia at about 6 months in terms of development. Which is what I would have guessed--even if it is a slightly bitter pill to swallow.
They also have a similar fashion sense. Look at this awesome hat Elinor picked out for Georgia!
It was really fun to watch them rolling around on the floor together.
But then Georgia seemed to get a little jealous, which was really funny. The lip and the pout and then the MAD face...(Elinor says "I'm outta' here!)
Look how red she gets. (Have you been drinking wine, Georgia? You look a little flushed.)
I don't know why I think it's cute/funny/adorable when she gets mad. Maybe I am just a little shocked by it because she is usually so calm. She's a go-with-the-flow type o' gal. Did I mention how she fought over a ball with her friend Emma in CT? Emma is a little older (1 year) and wanted the ball. I thought Georgia would just let it go. But she wouldn't! They got into a little tug-o-war over it!
Speaking of which...I never posted pics of my friend MK's little Emma. I used to live with MK and they came all the way from California to see us (and I suppose they also came to see their family). She is a real charmer!
Georgia has had the chance to meet and play with so many kidorinos this week. I hope we can do it more often. It's really a lot of fun and it makes me happy to know she's got little friends. Even if I AM forcing her to play with them. She can choose her own friends when she's older!

Thanks for the opportunity to see the new Elinor. The girls do look happy together.
