Surgery Day

It's about 11:15am. Georgia is in the operating room right now. She was taken in by the anesthesiologist at about 8am (we got here at 6:30). The surgeon's nurse just came in an hour ago to let us know it took awhile to get all the labwork they needed (an hour more than expected, and not surprising given the fact that she has always been a hard stick) because the work was expired due to the change in surgery date. So she wanted to make sure we knew that things had been delayed. We expect to hear more word after 2pm. Thank you for all your kind words and positive thoughts. It has been a trying 24 hours. Somehow, after a very sleepless night, I feel somewhat calm right now. Intermittently I feel like vomiting. I will be so glad to see her when she comes out, although I am certain seeing her attached to so many tubes and wires that I will be beside myself.

Yep, been clicking away all day waiting for an update.

You won't care about those tubes and wires when you see her pink cheeks and her little chest rising and falling with each breath. I promise.

Glad to hear things are underway. We've been praying since about 6:40 cdt and will continue. Braska's laying on her blanket and just babbling like crazy. I'm thinking she's magically keeping Georgia company while she sleeps, telling her how much fun stuff she'll feel like doing in a few days.
