Awe

The nurse from surgery came to tell us 30 minutes ago that they were finishing up. All went well. What a relief when she came into the room with a huge smile on her face! I am in absolute awe. To think that that fine surgeon and his team held my daughters tiny heart in his hands. That he fixed it.

The nurse said they would be about another hour finishing up in the OR and we can see our little miss about 20 minutes after that once she is settled in the PICU. I am just in so much awe. Though I can't wait to see her, I already feel so much weight just sliding from my shoulders. Just rinsing off me like it was a thick sludge and all I needed to do was shower. I so hope the recovery is quick and as painless as possible.

And thank you, thank you all our friends. I am in awe by you too. By your love and encouragement. I spent some time alone this morning, after handing my daughter over to the doctors and in my head I thought of each of you by name and told Georgia that you were all wishing and praying for her, and letting her know that she was so loved. It is humbling. And I appreciate it so immensely. And I so dearly hope that we can meet at least some of you in person someday. We really should have some sort of meet-up...you all mean so much to me. You have been my support in some very difficult times.

Much love and support also to Delphine and her family. What strong and brave s.

Now to await seeing my G.

I've been thinking of you guys all day - thank goodness everything went so well. Georgia is a rock star! And so is her mom... Just think how fun "regular" life is going to seem after this.

I feel like a big weight is off of MY shoulders, I cannot even imagine yours. Such a huge relief.

On to recovery!

Hooray!

That was fast! And I'm so glad all went well. I am also glad you feel the relief of knowing she's all fixed up and soon will be back home with you.

I am so glad that things went well! I am sure it must be a huge, huge relief to be through this and on the road to recovery with her. Many prayers for a speedy recovery.

So glad that all went well! We have been praying for her. (Braska's friend)

Oh, I'm crying a bit. Such wonderful, wonderful news. Yay!

I was just telling Cate a while ago that I wished we all could get together. We need to make it happen!

So glad that weight is falling off...you guys will be out of there in no time!

You have absolutely no idea who I am but I've been checking your blog all day to find out how Georgia is doing. Thank goodness. I'm so happy she's doing well.

Yeah! I am so happy to hear that things went well for Georgia. Your family has been in my thoughts often today. I can't wait to meet Georgia and see all her cuteness in person. Wishing Georgia a speedy recovery and you a deep breath and perhaps some sleep.

So happy to hear that. Give little Georgia an extra fat kiss from all of us. (((((hugs)))))

Such good news! I too hope that the recovery is swift and painless and that your little G is laughing soon.

love to all

We are so happy to hear the news! A big "bear" hug from us!

I have been thinking of you all day and I am delighted that the surgery went well. I imagine you sitting by Georgia's bed, putting vaseline on her lips (with that long q-tip) and rubbing her toes. I have a few shots of Joe without his shirt on my blog is you want to see how nicely the scar will heal.

I am so relieved for you! Positive thoughts are coming your way!

Big Love, Mama Bird.

I somehow stumbled upon your blog. I am in awe of your beautiful daughter. She is sooo gorgeous!! I pray that her recovery is going smoothly, and that she is not in too much pain. It sounds like the surgery went well. I hope things continue to improve, and that Georgia continues to regain strength!! Best Wishes

I am so glad to be able to add my name to such a long list of happy people whose hearts have been touched by your family's story. It's wonderful to hear that all went well. I can't wait to read more about Georgia as she grows and blossoms into a vigorous, healthy girl.

WONDERFUL news!
