O.k. Well, since Self Portrait Tuesday got me feeling all sullen and down, I felt I would be remiss were I not to post about two wonderful things that happened to me today.
1. I got out of bed, showered, got in my car--the sun beating down on me through my windshield--and drove to work. Ahhhhhhhh! To be well.
2. After work, after eating nothing but a piece of dry toast, after nearly three days of eating less food than an infant should eat in one sitting, I stopped at the Mansfield Country Store and bought myself a chicken salad sandwich with pickles, onions, black olives, lettuce, salt and pepper, drove home and enjoyed it along with a tall glass of ice water. I was voracious. And it was good.
And finally, in hindsight, I wanted to qualify yesterday's post. The one where I mentioned feeling like a jerk at my current job because I work alongside 16-year-olds and sling eggs. I just wanted to say, you know, maybe I eggggggggg-agerated...a little. For one, there is only one young gal there, and she's really cool. For two, I enjoy this job a lot more than many I have had that had more quote/unquote prestige. I have my own issues to deal with, and the job has no part in that. In fact, it has probably made me more sane than a lot has since moving here. And I am grateful for it. In addition, the other gals I work with (regardless of age) all really rock. And I am not just kissing blog ass here.
